Ski Hill and Freund Canyon Trails Environmental Assesment
The Leavenworth Ski Hill and Freund Canyon Trails Environmental Assesment is in the final stages! Remember the meeting we had at Ski Hill in response to the original scoping letter for this project? The very same that was featured in the Pedal Driven Documentary film. Our voice was heard and the original Proposed Action was altered to include three new alternatives. These changes are in direct response to our public review in which the Forest Service found "virtually no support for hiker only trails and an overwhelming consensus to utilize more of the existing user-built trails." Also, the proposed Forest Order was deemed unnecessary along with voiced concern about an additional east trail-head.
